Kathy Kelley is Savannah Bound

Hey everyone. I'm pleased to announce that I'm playing a pair of great gigs at the end of this week in Savannah, Ga.
First up is a fundraiser for the Tybee Post Theater on Tybee Island (right outside of Savannah). If  you've never had the pleasure to visit the historical and beautiful island, then take my word for it, it's a lovely place. The folks down there have invited me to play in support of their drive to refurbish the Tybee Post theater. Check out all the details here.

Then on September 2nd, I'm very happy to announce that I'll be headlining The Savannah Folk Society's "First Friday for Folk Music".
First Friday for Folk Music is a production of the Savannah Folk Music Society and is held the first Friday of each month at First Presbyterian Church at 520 Washington Avenue, Savannah, Georgia. It is smoke-free, alcohol-free and family-friendly. There is a recommended donation of $2 per person. Beverages and homemade fresh baked goods are available for purchase. Festivities start at 7:30 PM and run until about 10:30 PM. $2 recommended donation.
Opening up the show will be local favorite singer-songwriter Jan Spillane,
Playing piano and guitar, Jan Spillane is an energetic, true southern troubadour who has honed a trademark blend of folk, jazzy/blues, soulful, country-influenced pop called “The Key of Jan.” Since versatility is what Spillane is all about, she fits nicely into the Americana genre. Vocally, she literally sounds like no one else, and her desire to bend and warp established genres is what makes her a wonderful songwriter. Over the course of 14 years, Jan has released four impressive albums, and in October 2010, she released her first single, Good as Gold, and has headed back into the studio with more than a few projects, including Blue Canvas, which will be released in the Spring of 2012.
I'd love to see old friend out there, and I can't wait to make ton's of new ones!
